Our Environmental Commitments
We are dedicated to minimizing our footprint and actively contributing to the conservation of Komodo’s natural environment.
- Carbon Offsetting: We partner with certified carbon offset programs to calculate and offset the emissions from every yacht charter and domestic flight we book for our clients, helping to fund reforestation and renewable energy projects in Indonesia.
- Zero Single-Use Plastics: All yachts in our portfolio are contractually obligated to adhere to a strict no single-use plastic policy. We provide guests with reusable water bottles and utilize filtered water systems onboard. All provisions are sourced with minimal plastic packaging.
- Reef-Safe Practices: We exclusively provide and mandate the use of reef-safe sunscreens. Our dive and snorkel briefings, led by certified guides, include strict instructions on passive observation to prevent coral damage. We adhere to all no-anchor zones designated by the Komodo National Park Authority.
- Waste Management: We enforce a rigorous waste segregation and management system on all vessels. No waste is ever discharged into the sea. All refuse is properly sorted and brought back to Labuan Bajo for responsible disposal and recycling where facilities exist.
- Direct Conservation Support: A percentage of every booking fee is donated directly to our conservation partners, the Komodo Survival Program and the Manta Trust, to fund their vital on-the-ground research and protection efforts.

- Local Employment: We maintain a policy of hiring over 90% of our yacht crew and ground staff from the local communities of Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT). We invest in their training and professional development, creating long-term career paths, not just seasonal jobs.
- Local Sourcing: We prioritize sourcing our fresh produce, fish, and supplies from local markets and farming cooperatives in and around Labuan Bajo. This not only provides our guests with the freshest ingredients but also injects revenue directly into the local economy.
- Community Development Projects: Through the Juara Holding Group foundation, we support a primary school in the village of Papagarang, providing educational materials and funding for facility improvements. We believe education is the key to a sustainable future for the region.
- Preservation of Traditional Crafts: We facilitate respectful and authentic cultural interactions. We arrange for our guests to visit communities like Melo Village to witness the Caci dance or to purchase intricate Manggaraian ‘songke’ weavings directly from the artisans, ensuring 100% of the proceeds go to the creator.
